As you may have heard, the American Chemical Society (ACS) will no longer be presenting the Frank H. Field and Joe L. Franklin Award for Outstanding Achievement in Mass Spectrometry as a national award. Thanks to the support of sixteen previous awardees and others, sufficient funds have been raised for the award to continue as a division level award under the sponsorship of the Analytical Division.
While this in itself is an achievement, we’d like to go a step beyond. We believe it is essential to maintain the national status of the ACS Field and Franklin Award. To do this, we will need to raise $425,000 in order to restore the prestigious national status to this important award. Your support in this endeavor would be greatly appreciated.
