The Division of Analytical Chemistry had a very strong presence at the 2023 Fall ACS meeting in San Francisco! Held at the Moscone Center Sunday August 13 through Thursday August 17, the technical program included 44 sessions highlighting five different award symposia, great contributions from our general standing symposia on mass spectrometry, separations, electrochemistry, and spectroscopy; special symposia on applied nonlinear spectroscopy, nanozymes for bioanalysis, CE-MS, protein glycosylation, imaging tools, wearable and implantable technologies, portable/compact separation technologies, and virtual graduate students symposium in Asia-Pacific region for analytical chemistry. New symposia featured an industry focus on trace analysis of substances of concern, application of predictive sciences in the pharmaceutical industry, and connecting academics and industry through Enabling Technologies Consortium (ETC) to enable precompetitive collaborations for technology gaps in the analytical chemistry.  A special symposium was dedicated to promote and support the Division’s diversity, equity, inclusion & respect (DEI&R) initiatives by featuring ‘A Diverse Path to Success in Analytical Chemistry’ speakers. The technical program also included in-person and virtual poster sessions.
The Division held a well-attended reception on Tuesday evening during which recipients of national and divisional awards along with new Fellows and Younger Chemists travel grants awardees were recognized.
The Division was also the recipient of the Committee on Divisional Activities (DAC) ChemLuminary award for its outstanding promotion of DEI&R in its technical program.
Many thanks go to Dr. Liangliang Sun, Chair of the ANYL Long-Range Program Planning Committee, and Dr. Mirlinda Biba, ANYL 2023 Program Chair along with symposium organizers and speakers for making the San Francisco meeting a great success!
